Dry containers are used to ship dry goods (everything from shoes to cars) across the world and keep them safe (and dry). Perfect for storing or transporting anything that doesn’t require a certain temperature control.
20ft containers are generally for heavy cargoes, while 40ft containers are for lighter and more bulky items.

Reefer (or refrigerated) containers are used to ship chilled or frozen products across the world without harming the sensitive contents. An operating reefer can control temperatures from -10°F (-22°C) t0 80°F (26°C).
These are extremely durable as they are built to withstand harsh environments at sea and handling and stacking in container terminals. These are great for any storage purpose, where temperature control is important such as food products, wine, or flowers etc.

Open top containers are like standard dry containers except they have no solid roof. Open top containers have an open top that is normally covered by a tarpaulin instead of a solid roof. This makes it suitable for oversized cargo such as timber and scrap metal to be loaded from the top.
Open tops are often used for heavy and/or bulky finished products, which handling and loading can only be performed with a crane or a rolling bridge.

Flat rack containers are suitable for heavy and bulky cargo as well as over-height and over-width cargo . Flat racks are great for cargo that needs loading from the top or sides such as pipes and machinery. Flat rack containers generally have collapsible sides.
Cargo that move on flat racks can be machinery, cables, drums, sheet and steel coils, heavy vehicles, timber and forest products.

Also called “one-trip” containers, these containers have taken only one trip from the factory in Asia with cargo. This is the best quality on the market and ready for any purpose including shipping, storage or modification into any use. You should select this option if an as-new physical appearance is important, or you need to ship or export cargo.

This means that the container condition meets the requirements for international shipping. These containers live up to the CSC safety standards, allowing them to be used for shipping. These containers will be ideal for most purposes, both transportation storage and modifications especially for converting into, housing as they floors are generally in a good condition. You should select this option if you need a high-quality container that can be used for any purpose including transportation.

This a term used for containers that are not necessarily repaired to a safe structural condition to transport cargo but remain wind and water tight. You should select these if you need a container for storage or modification, but do not need it to transport cargo.

These units can be damaged, and in need of repairs to be re-used. You should select these if you are building a pop-up bar, festival stall or other structures where no heavy loading is required.

Depending on the project, anything from a wind & watertight to a new container could be relevant.
If you are building e.g. a pop-up restaurant or bar, a wind & watertight container might be ideal, as you will likely not need it for shipping, and you will need to do some cutting for doors and windows, which makes dents less of a problem.
If you are building more elaborate modification projects, cargo-worthy or new containers might be required, depending on complexity of the structure and the weight the containers need to carry (if stacked).
For housing purposes, we recommend cargo-worthy or new containers. These are structurally intact, and will have a lower wear and tear on the walls and the flooring.
New containers are ideal if you have specific requirements such as perfect flooring, or a perfect new aesthetic look.
Cargo-worthy containers are often used for housing/ conversion projects as the flooring is strong without holes, and the container is fully intact.
If you need the container for storage, you do not necessarily need a new or cargo-worthy container
A wind & watertight container is great for static storage at your farm, workshop, warehouse or yard. They might not be as “good looking” as a cargo-worthy container, but they will do the trick of keeping your goods safe and dry. With a paint-job you it will look great.
Cargo-worthy or new containers are the way to go if you need it for mobile self-storage or rental business
If you need to use the container for shipping or exports, you need a cargo-worthy container. These can either be used or new depending on your specific needs.
If you need it to ship one-way cargo, a cargo-worthy container is great. If you are going to use the container as part of a shipping fleet, a new container is likely the right choice.
